Gemini CLI

Gemini CLI is Google’s open-source AI agent for the terminal, licensed Apache-2.0. It runs Gemini models with Google Search grounding, file tools, shell commands, and MCP integrations. There is no separate Gemini CLI subscription. A personal Google account has a free request allowance, and Google AI Pro or Ultra raises the daily cap.

The quotas page and the GitHub README both put a personal Google account at 1,000 model requests a day. The README also states 60 requests per minute. Google AI Pro is 1,500 a day and Google AI Ultra is 2,000 a day on that quotas page. Dollar prices for those Google AI plans were not on the pages checked. API-key and Vertex use can be pay-as-you-go. The quotas page lists 250 unpaid API-key requests a day, Flash only, while the README describes an API-key free tier of 1,000 a day. Those two pages disagree, so this record does not publish an API-key cap.
